Shawn is the newest addition to the Strategic HSE team, bringing over 17 years of comprehensive experience in Health, Safety, Environment, and Regulatory compliance, along with more than 30 years in the Oil and Gas industry.

 

Prior to joining Strategic HSE as a Senior Consultant, Shawn served as the HSER Manager for Long Run Exploration and New Star Energy. In this role, he was responsible for the comprehensive oversight and management of corporate HSER systems, regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, safety orientations, facility and site inspections, and audits. His expertise also includes developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management, environmental cleanups, and detailed incident investigations.

 

Earlier in his career, Shawn held roles as an HSE Coordinator and Oil and Gas Operator and gained significant hands-on experience working on both service and drilling rigs. His unique blend of operational and managerial experience allows him to effectively bridge the gap between strategic planning in the office and practical execution in the field. Shawn firmly believes that successful safety management is driven by strong leadership and actively shaped by the individuals who perform the work.
